Your primary focus will be at the forefront of shaping the organizational culture and fostering an environment of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. This entails guiding and inspiring teams to meet and exceed project objectives while upholding DOD regulations and standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a comprehensive understanding of DOD contracting procedures, and a proven track record of successful mentorship of teams to meet and exceed project objectives. Position Responsibilities: • Identifying and collaboratively pursuing business development opportunities by leveraging strategic partnerships and fostering growth initiatives. • Lead the management of DOD contracts, including acquisition, execution, and delivery phases, in accordance with contractual requirements and timelines. • Serve as the primary liaison between the contractor and the DOD, maintaining open lines of communication and addressing any operational issues or concerns. • Effectively allocate human, financial, and material resources to support project objectives and contractual obligations. • Supervise and mentor operations team members, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal performance and productivity. • Ensure strict adherence to all DOD regulations, policies, and procedures, including the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) • Implement and maintain robust compliance processes, conducting regular audits and assessments to identify and mitigate risks. • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancement within operations, leveraging best practices and innovative solutions. • Develop and implement standardized procedures and workflows to streamline operations and maximize productivity. • Establish and maintain rigorous quality assurance protocols to ensure deliverables meet or exceed DOD standards and contractual requirements. • Conduct regular quality reviews and performance evaluations, implementing corrective actions as needed to address any deficiencies. • Monitor project budgets and expenditures, working closely with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and forecasting. • Identify cost-saving opportunities and revenue enhancement strategies to optimize project profitability and sustainability. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and program management, to facilitate seamless coordination and execution of defense contracts. • Foster positive relationships with DOD stakeholders and key decision-makers, actively engaging in strategic discussions and problem-solving efforts. Position Requirements: • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management within the defense industry, with a focus on DOD contracting. • Thorough understanding of DOD acquisition processes, regulations, and compliance requirements, including DFARS and ITAR. • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and empower staff to achieve organizational goals. • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to interact effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders. • Proven track record of driving operational excellence and delivering results in a highly regulated and complex environment. • Ability to obtain and maintain any required security clearances. Preferred Qualifications: • Previous experience working as a DoD contractor. • PMP Certification desirable Education and Certification: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or equivalent.
