POSITION SUMMARY

The Community Bank Lending Officer is responsible for evaluating, authorizing, or recommending approval of commercial, real estate, and personal loans. The role involves working closely with clients to understand their financial needs and providing tailored lending solutions that align with the bank's lending policies and risk management strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance or banking, excellent customer service skills, and a deep commitment to the community we serve.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assess loan applications, including reviewing financial information, credit scores, and collateral values, to determine feasibility and compliance with the bank's lending criteria.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customers by providing high-quality, personalized service.
  • Guide clients through the loan process, explaining different types of loans, terms, and any other financial services that may be beneficial.
  • Monitor loan portfolios to ensure the quality of lending and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Work closely with the underwriting team to structure loans, set terms, and assess risk.
  • Stay informed about the local market conditions, changes in the industry, and emerging trends to identify business opportunities and potential risks.
  • Participate in community events and organizations to promote the bank and its services, reinforcing our commitment to the community.
  • Collaborate with other bank departments to cross-sell products and services that meet the broader financial needs of our clients.
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation for all loan transactions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Additional certification or coursework in lending or banking is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in banking or financial services, with a focus on lending.
  • Strong understanding of lending processes, underwriting criteria, and banking regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional customer service orientation, with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a talent for explaining complex financial information in an accessible manner.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and loan processing software.
