I. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A. Bachelors degree in educational field.
B. Current State of MN elementary or secondary teaching license.
B. Relevant experience working with adolescents.
D. Exemplary written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
E. Proven success working collaboratively with other employees, supervisors, parents, and students in a team-building environment.
F. Willing to be trained in Cognitive Coaching principles.

IV. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
A.Successfully accomplish the job responsibilities associated with the Student Success Coordinator function.
B. Successfully accomplish the job responsibilities associated with the professional responsibilities function.

VII. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Student Success Coordinator Responsibilities
1. Contributing to school’s efforts to develop an AVID school-wide approach to support instructional best practices for teachers, College & Career Readiness program and Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports systems (PBIS).
2. Collecting, analyzing and using data systematically to initiate and support the implementation of PBIS systems including Tier 1 and Tier 2 interventions.
3. Collecting, analyzing and using data to design and provide professional development, coaching and mentoring on core components of PBIS.
4. Co-facilitating school-level PBIS leadership team, including reporting data and facilitating team utilization of data for PBIS-related goal setting, implementation monitoring and student progress monitoring.
5. Analyzing and using Minnesota Department of Education MIERS data to develop supports to reduce the number of students at-risk of dropping out.
6. Working with the Check-In and Check-Out Mentor to expand current program.
7. Developing relationships with families of at-risk students.
B. Professional Responsibilities
- Establishing and maintaining effective and professional relationships with students, peers, and parents.
- Demonstrating effective written and oral communication with parents/guardians that displays cultural sensitivity.
- Displaying positive leadership and making substantial contributions at both the building and district level on projects, initiatives, and curriculum improvement.
- Seeking out professional development opportunities and applying knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program.
- Collaborating with others to improve professional practice and student achievement.
- Caring for assigned district resources, equipment, and materials and reporting concerns regarding facility and equipment to designated supervisor.
- Being knowledgeable of and adhering to all procedures and practices prescribed in the Teacher, Student, and/or Parent Handbooks.
- Understanding and practicing School Board policies and adhere to federal and state laws that apply to his/her job assignment.
- Providing direction and supervision for all school activities to which he/she is assigned.
- Performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by building principal or district administrator.
