Your Duties:
- Oversee annual budget
- Report transportation costs annually
- Supervise our yearly budget for compliance
- Formulate operational policies
- Ensure all bus routes are safe
- Review legal written materials concerning school buses
- Attend IEP meetings as needed
- Also Portland Board of Education when transportation issues come up
- Extensive knowledge of standard budgeting and school transportation policies
- Extensive knowledge of vehicles specifications
- Extensive knowledge of pupil transportation operation routing software
- VersaTrans is preferred
- Ability to interpret data
- Ability to coordinate district functions
- Ability to develop and maintain appropriate accounting procedures
- Bachelor's degree, extensive experience will be considered
- 3-5 years of management experience in transportation operations
- Experience as a bus driver or related positions (preferred)
- Course work in the education field, automotive trade school training preferred
- Valid Maine Class B commercial driver's license with school bus “S” endorsement
- Maine Department of Education Criminal History Record Check required ($70.00)
