Job Summary:
The Corian Countertop Marine Technician is responsible for the fabrication, installation, maintenance, and repair of Corian countertops on various types of marine vessels. This role involves precise craftsmanship, knowledge of marine-specific requirements, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:
Fabrication and Installation:

• Measure and cut Corian sheets to precise specifications for marine countertops.
  Seamlessly join pieces using appropriate adhesives and techniques.
  Install countertops on a variety of marine vessels, ensuring proper fit and secure attachment.

Maintenance and Repair:

• Inspect existing countertops for damage or wear.
• Perform repairs such as filling chips, sanding out scratches, and re-sealing seams.
• Conduct routine maintenance to ensure longevity and durability of installed countertops.

Quality Control:

• Conduct thorough inspections of finished work to ensure it meets company standards and client specifications.
• Make adjustments and corrections as needed to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Safety and Compliance:

• Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols during fabrication and installation.
• Ensure compliance with marine industry standards and regulations.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace to prevent accidents and enhance efficiency.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of projects, including measurements, materials used, and work performed.
• Report to supervisors on job progress, challenges encountered, and solutions implemented.

Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in countertop fabrication or marine carpentry preferred.
Experience: Proven experience in the fabrication and installation of Corian or similar solid surface materials.
Experience working in the marine industry is highly desirable.
Skills and Abilities: Proficient in using hand and power tools relevant to countertop fabrication and installation.
Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under minimal supervision.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Physical ability to perform tasks that involve standing, lifting, and working in confined spaces.

Certifications:

Certifications in Corian fabrication and installation are a plus.
OSHA or other safety training certifications are beneficial.

Work Environment:
Primarily works in a marine setting, including shipyards, docks, and onboard vessels.
Exposure to varying weather conditions and the need to work in confined and potentially awkward spaces.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
