Notre groupe Technologie, Vie et securite, est presentement a la recherche d'un Responsable du developpement logiciel pour notre etablissement de Montreal!

Le Responsable du developpement logiciel sera charge de diverses taches d'ingenierie logicielle, incluant de l'organisation des efforts de developpement, dont la planification du cycle de developpement logiciel des produits, les projets, et la delegation des taches conformement aux politiques et procedures etablies.

Responsabilites et obligations quotidiennes :

  • Assurer le bon fonctionnement de l'equipe de developpement et livrer des produits de qualite dans les delais prevus
  • Suivre l'execution des projets et communiquer leur avancement de facon proactive
  • Gerer et assurer l'uniformisation entre les produits developpes a l'interne
  • Identifier et recommander des ameliorations aux procedures, lesquelles seront concues pour rationaliser et ameliorer l'efficacite globale des activites du service
  • Interpreter, comprendre, et produire la documentation technique interne qui supporte les processus et procedures lies au cycle de developpement logiciel
  • Examiner les efforts de developpement pour assurer la conformite aux diverses normes
  • Superviser les examens techniques, y compris les examens de conception, les exigences logicielles, et les evaluations des projets
  • Gerer les depenses du service et des projets en respectant les contraintes budgetaires
  • Encadrer, developper et conseiller les subalternes, afin de produire un rendement de qualite, tout en continuant a developper des competences personnelles en gestion, pour diriger le personnel et composer avec des defis uniques en matiere de gestion
  • Fournir le leadership en matiere de conseils techniques ainsi que l'orientation pour les taches et les projets techniques assignes, dont le choix des methodes, les techniques, la priorisation, et les criteres pour obtenir des resultats de qualite

COMPETENCES MINIMALES :

La personne qui postule pour ce poste doit satisfaire les competences minimales suivantes.

Formation

  • Diplome de baccalaureat en informatique ou en genie logiciel ou formation equivalente

Experience professionnelle

  • Au moins cinq annees d'experience dans un role de superviseur ou de chef d'equipe
  • Six annees d'experience comportant des responsabilites croissantes en developpement logiciel sont souhaitables
  • Deux annees d'experience en gestion de projets sont souhaitables

Competences et experience souhaitees

  • Six annees d'experience en langages de programmation orientes objet modernes et en analyse et conception orientees objet, incluant la comprehension de l'architecture de conception, des structures des donnees, et des algorithmes courants
  • Experience avec au moins un des langages suivants: C , C #, Java
  • Experience en HTML 5, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • A l'aise de travailler dans un environnement qui comprend les processus Agile, le developpement dirige par les tests, et l'integration continue
  • Solides competences en resolution de problemes et capacite de diriger une equipe qui possede des competences diversifiees

OurLife & Safety Technology Group is currently hiring aSoftware Development Manager for our Montreal location!

The Software Development manager will be responsible for managing a variety of software engineering tasks including organizing development efforts including product software development lifecycle (SDLC) planning, projects, and delegation of tasks according to established policies and procedures.

Day to day responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Ensure developments team run smoothly and deliver quality products on time
  • Track execution of projects and provide proactive communication on their progress
  • Manage and ensure standardization between internally developed products
  • Identify and recommend procedural enhancements designed to streamline and improve the overall efficiency of departmental operations
  • Interpret, understand, and generate internal technical documentation supporting software development lifecycle processes and procedures
  • Review development efforts to ensure compliance with various standards
  • Oversee technical review including design reviews, software requirements, and project evaluations
  • Meet with various departments and customers to determine business and end-user requirements
  • Manage department and projects expenditures in line with budgetary constraints
  • Coach, develop, and mentor subordinates to achieve quality performance while continuing to develop personal management skill necessary to lead staff and handle unique management challenges
  • Provide technical consulting leadership and direction on assigned technical projects/tasks including selection of methods, techniques, prioritization, and criteria to obtain quality results

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicant for this job will be expected to meet the following minimum qualifications.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineeringor equivalent

Professional Experience

  • Minimum five year supervisory or lead experience required
  • Six years increasingly responsible experience in software development preferred
  • Two year Project management experience preferred

Desired Skills & Experience

  • 6 years of experience in modern, object-oriented programming languages and object-oriented analysis and design, including understanding common design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Experience in at least one of the following languages: C , C #, Java
  • Experience with HTML 5, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Comfortable working in Agile process, test-driven development, and continuous integration environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead a team with different skills.
