Job Functions:

• Bill primary payers such as Medicare, Commercial, Managed Care, Workman’s Compensation, and auto.
• Follow-up with commercial and government insurance payers on new and aged claims
• Analyze accounts for underpayments or denials and submit appeals in a timely manner
• Bill secondary-tertiary payers or evaluate for patient responsibility after the primary has paid
• Research and resolve patient account issues
• Post and review payments received to appropriate patient's account.
• Perform functions of computer/data processor as necessary or directed.
• Data entry on all patient charges and refunds
• Responsible for keeping in contact with the responsible parties involved as to payments due and the status of their accounts
• Perform secretarial functions as necessary or directed

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in hospital or physician medical billing and follow up using 1500's
• Experience working in insurance claim denials, adjustments, and appeals
• Must be competent in medical billing of all Government, Commercial and Managed Care Payers

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
