Position Purpose

Work with plant management and personnel daily to help improve plant safety, quality, throughput and reduce costs through research, design, development and installation of devices and systems.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Responsible for safe work habits and ensuring that all equipment operates in a safe manner.
  • Maintains a progress schedule that meets project milestones
  • Creates Programmable Logical Control (PLC) programs
  • Control system programming, troubleshooting, commissioning
  • Prepares design documentation (schematics, plans, BOM, equipment schedules)
  • Performs system validation according to scope documentation and project requirements
  • Ensures priorities are consistent with project needs; reports progress to project and engineering management
  • Ensures that all project checklists and electronic documents created by the project team are complete and archived
  • Provides input to the project lessons learned process
  • Onsite commissioning
  • Reviews customer specifications and scope documentation for quotation and clarification
  • Performs process checks and design reviews
  • Follows engineering standards
  • Travels up to 25%
  • Related tasks as requested by supervisor.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related engineering field, or relevant Engineering discipline
  • Minimum of 3-7 years of related experience
  • Experience with industrial HMI and SCADA systems, Allen-Bradley controls/controllers an PLCs
  • In-depth knowledge of industrial automation systems, using Allen-Bradley PLC's, HMI's, and controls. Siemens, Mitsubishi and Schneider PLCs, preferred
  • Experience with 2D drafting software like Draft Sight
  • Willingness to bring a team together and accomplish project goals effectively
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Team-oriented and collaborative
  • Creative-thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to learn new technologies
  • Aptitude and willingness to be a self-starter.
  • Willingness to work as required to meet schedules.
  • Must be able to travel up to 25%
  • Must have a valid Driver's License or ability to obtain one.
  • Must have a valid Passport or ability to obtain one.

Bonus Skills and Experience

  • Robotic Programming Experience. Fanuc, Yaskawa
  • Experience with Vision and Barcode Reading Systems. Cognex, Keyence, and Sick

Physical Requirements

  • Must have a full range of motion and be able to kneel, bend, and twist for extended periods as the task requires.
  • This position requires continual use of your hands, considerable use of your arms and legs, and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
  • This position requires long periods of standing.
  • The use of safety equipment, such as safety glasses, gloves, helmets, and hearing protection, is utilized daily.
