INTERSTATE FIRE SALES AND SERVICES is Hiring a Low Voltage Technician Near Elko, NV

Description

State Fire is an established company providing comprehensive installation and service expertise in fire alarm, alarm monitoring, kitchen fire suppression systems, special hazards clean agent systems, security, card access, nurse call systems, fire sprinklers, and fire extinguishers.

State Fire has grown from a 3-person operation to a regional fire service company servicing customers in Idaho, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, Oregon, Texas, Colorado and Wyoming. State Fire employs more than 150 trained and licensed managers and technicians.

State Fire is currently seeking qualified Low Voltage Technicians to help run existing and upcoming low voltage construction jobs in the Elko, NV area.

Job Type: Full-Time, Monday through Friday, scheduled hours to vary. Position may include on-call schedule as well.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Maintain daily Safety paperwork including but not limited to: Field Level Risk Assessments, pre-operational vehicle inspections, pre-work job site safety inspections.
  • Perform maintenance service calls as needed.
  • Respond to and assess emergency service or warranty calls.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and productive work environment for all construction and service jobs.
  • Support the Installation and Maintenance of Fire Alarm, Access Control, CCTV and Low Voltage systems.
  • Will be leading the work of others, including subs, to complete projects and service calls.
  • Maintain good relationship with Project Managers and Property Managers.
  • Liaison with vendors, subs and main office in scheduling and ordering material and labor in order to complete projects.

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Applicants should have a Journeyman Limited Energy License or ability to obtain within 90 days.
  • 2 Years of experience in the Low Voltage field. (Access Control, CCTV, and Security) experience is a plus.
  • Be able to read and understand blueprints.
  • Be willing to take direction and complete necessary documentation for all jobs or company related requirements.
  • Be able to work alone to finish projects as needed.
  • Be able to work with other employee's and subs to maintain a good working relationship in order to efficiently schedule needed work.
  • Be able to establish a good relationship with new and existing customers and maintain good communication.
  • The ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing to superiors, subordinates, suppliers, and customers
  • Be proficient in hand tools as well as all other trade specific tools and equipment.
  • Be organized, reliable and self-motivated.
  • Experience in other low voltage fields (Audio/Visual, Phone/Data/CATV, etc.) is a plus.
  • This position will require the following: Sitting, standing, kneeling, crouching, and stooping for prolonged periods.
  • The ability to operate a motor vehicle, to visit job sites, customers, and suppliers.
  • The ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, and stairs.
  • The ability to move about in areas with limited space and difficult access.
  • Must be able to safely lift, transport and place objects up to 70 pounds without assistance.

Physical Requirements:

  • This position will require the following: Sitting, standing, kneeling, crouching, and stooping for prolonged periods on and off ladders.
  • The ability to operate a motor vehicle, to visit job sites, customers, and suppliers.
  • The ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, and stairs.
  • The ability to operate man lifts.
  • The ability to move about in areas with limited space and difficult access.
  • Must be able to safely lift, transport and place very heavy cylinders.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors.
