Job Summary

Education Research in Conflict and Protracted Crisis (ERICC) is a three-year Education in Emergencies (EiE) research programme funded by the British Foreign Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO). The IRC leads the ERICC Research programme Consortium (RPC), comprised of IRC and eight of the world’s leading research organizations focused on education in crisis and conflict settings in seven FCDO focal countries and contexts – Bangladesh (Cox’s Bazar), Jordan, Lebanon, Myanmar, Nigeria, South Sudan, and Syria. ERICC seeks to conduct rigorous research on what works, for whom, when, and at what cost.

The TTA Senior Research Programme Coordinator will provide programmatic, operational, and MEAL support to the RPC, ensuring that the consortium’s activities continue smoothly, all deliverables are met in a timely manner, and consortium monitoring is kept up to date and accurate. Job Overview/Summary: 

The Senior Research Programme Coordinator leads key project management tasks across the entire ERICC program, supervising the ERICC Programme Manager and working closely with the rest of the ERICC team to deliver an ambitious program of research and research uptake activities. The role involves coordination across multiple units within IRC, consortium partners, IRC country offices, ERICC partners, and FCDO; and leading on programme reporting and monitoring, tracking deliverables.

Major responsibilities include:

ERICC Annual Meeting Support

  • Provide coordination and planning support to the Senior Research Communications Officer before, during and after the ERICC Annual Meeting in Amman, Jordan from June 3-5, 2024
  • Develop and oversee a notetaking system for each annual meeting session
  • Develop the internal and external annual meeting report, and ensure that all recordings and minutes are ready to be shared as annexes to these reports.

Project Management and Monitoring & Evaluation

  • Ensure partner log frames and the consortium Log frame, as well as Outcome 1,2, and 3 monitoring tools are filled out on time with a high degree of accuracy for submission.
  • Lead the MEAL Working Group, including convening quarterly meetings, coordinating the accurate and timely use of MEAL tracking tools, and reviewing partner indicators.
  • Support the Programme Director in updating partner scopes of work as needed, and actively communicate with partners to ensure activities are completed on time.
  • Work with the Programme Manager to track and follow-up on partner deliverables and communicate with the Programme Director on deliverable submissions and approvals.
  • Support the Programme Director in consolidating the FY24 Q1 quarterly deliverable submission to FCDO, including sharing Payment by Results Deliverable, the updated deliverable RAG table, and a folder of consortium research deliverables for the quarter.

Partner Coordination & Communications

  • Oversee the setup of standing and ad-hoc consortium meetings, and ensure detailed minutes are taken and shared in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain regular check-ins with all partners, and support the creation of clear collaboration lines
  • Support the Programme Director in developing agendas and presentations for monthly FCDO meetings, quarterly IRC regional check-ins, and all standing consortium meetings.
  • Support the Research Directorate to ensure that all research activities line up with contractual obligations between partners and IRC and IRC and FCDO. Support the research directorate team on maintaining the workplans for global level research and partner research reviews.
  • Support the Senior Research Communications Officer and Knowledge Management Consultant on communicating and maintaining clear timelines for publications, events, and other activities.
  • Participate in all key internal and external consortium meetings

Reporting

  • Share reporting timelines and expectations with partners, and ensuring partner reporting information is included in consortium-level reports. Collaborate with partners to troubleshoot any gaps or challenges with monitoring reporting.
  • Review, send feedback, and approve partners’ FY24 Q1 reports and logframes
  • Lead the development, writing and review of the consortium’s FY24 Q1 report and logframe to FCDO.
  • Support the ERICC Programme Director to implement adjustments to account for any gaps in reporting/data collection and work closely with field teams and partners to address them.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience with demonstrated organization, coordination and project management. Experience in monitoring and evaluation preferred
  • Excellent written English including the ability to edit, synthesise information and produce high quality reports
  • Experience and a good understanding of education in conflict and protracted crises
  • Proven ability to work across functions and work on own initiative
  • Ability to manage a varied workload, work under pressure, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including an ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels and acrossregions/countries
  • Excellent IT skills (Word, Outlook, Excel)

Working Environment

  • This position is expected to travel to Amman, Jordan for the ERICC Annual Meeting on June 3-5, 2024.
