Since its inception in 1933, the IRC offers lifesaving care and life-changing assistance to refugees forced to flee from war or disaster. This role is part of the International Philanthropy and Partnerships (IPP) unit, which leads on the IRC's engagement with corporations, foundations, international philanthropists, and new global funding streams.

The ideal candidate is someone with a pulse on technology – from products (hardware/software) to social media and telecoms, and the associated trends in the sector. We are looking for a candidate that can bridge the divide between fundraising and working strategically with technology sector partners, using their products and expertise to advance the IRC’s impact. As an Officer with a dedicated portfolio of established technology partners, you will help to advance fundraising strategies and activations, inclusive of revenue and in-kind support. The Officer will also demonstrate a passion for the IRC's mission, nuanced understanding of private sector fundraising, and dedication to the organization's diversity, equity, and inclusion values.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Associate Director, Tech and the tech portfolio team to steward a $2M USD portfolio of partners that is already set up for maternity coverage;
  • Demonstrate the capacity and professional expertise to coordinate and manage senior level donor meetings;
  • With the oversight of the Associate Director and/or a team mentor, exercise and execute creative solutions to meet the needs of the IRC and portfolio;
  • In keeping with account strategic plans and goals, maintain a series of high profile, creative, and impactful partnerships across key fundraising and strategic modalities including employee engagement, in-kind support, pro bono expertise, and more;
  • Manage outreach, solicitation, and strategies for partners within the portfolio, such as pitches, proposal submissions, and general partnership stewardship to keep all relationships warm through the end of the FY;
  • Partner with GPPS as needed to create materials for partners, including proposed partnership overviews and activation ideas, concept notes, proposals, presentations, and reports, from drafts through to final line-editing and formatting;
  • Work closely with the External Relations teams (e.g., digital, creative studio, experiential events) to leverage tech-related virtual and in-person events and campaigns to support the overall fundraising efforts of the organization.
  • Review already created a robust client servicing plan for each portfolio partner, including key performance indicators, ongoing planning and reporting to optimize quality of service, pipeline for funding, and donor satisfaction;
  • Facilitate information flows between prospects and donors, program staff and fellow IPP officers;
  • Demonstrate the capacity to adapt, pivot successfully, and handle higher visibility challenges on a regular basis both with donors/prospects and internally;
  • Undertake special assignments, as needed.

Position Reports to:Associate Director, Technology Partnerships, Global Corporate Partnerships

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience;
  • Experience working with or strong interest in the technology sector and community;
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience of partnership development and/or front line corporate fundraising experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment;
  • Experience identifying and exploring new and creative ways of engaging with tech companies and their communities, influencers, and other partners to support humanitarian efforts.

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

  • Management or solicitation of partnerships valued at or above $500,000 USD per year;
  • Ability to carry out thoughtful project management plans and implement them in timely and detailed fashion;
  • Ability to accurately and efficiently operate in a fast-paced environment and adapt to shifting priorities;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and written and oral communication skills: the ability to effectively interact with a variety of internal and external contacts with confidence and poise.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong project management skills, experience working on multiple projects with global cross-functional teams;
  • Ability to travel for partnership meetings in the United States, if needed.
