The IRC’s U.S. Programs (USP) department creates opportunities for refugees and other vulnerable migrants to survive and thrive in America. USP serves more than 40,000 individuals each year, including thousands of newly arrived refugees,throughadiverseportfolioofprogramsaimedatachievingoutcomesinfiveimpactareas:Health, Safety, Economic Wellbeing, Education, and Power. TheIRC works with government bodies,civilsociety actors andlocalvolunteers tohelprefugees,asylees and those with Special Immigrant Visas translate their past experiences into assets that are valuable to theirnewcommunities.InDenverandotherofficesacrossthecountry,theIRChelpsrefugeesandasylees torebuildtheirlivesthroughservicesandprogramsthatassistwithinitialresettlementthroughlonger-term integration. Presently, these services are case management, employment services, psychosocial support, family stabilization, health coordination, health insurance literacy, family reunification and programs for children and youth.TheDenver office also has a legalservices program to provideprobonolegalrepresentationtosurvivorsoftorture,aswellasdirectlegalservicesforfamily-based immigration. INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW: The Community Engagement Marketing and Events Management Intern will work directly with the Community Engagement Manager to support various marketing initiatives, assist in the planning and executing of events, and engage with the local community. The intern would be involved in assisting in the planning, coordination, and execution of Community Engagement outreach activities and events aimed at engaging the community. COMMITMENT: 12 hours per week (3-month minimum; 6 months preferred) RESPONSIBILITIES: LEARNINGOBJECTIVES: The Community Engagement Marketing and Events Management Intern will develop and implement effective marketing strategies to promote community engagement initiatives, plan and execute community events, conduct market research, build relationships with community members and stakeholders, and analyze the success of marketing and community engagement events.
