Job Overview:

IRC’s Family Wellness Program offers intensive case management and advocacy services for individuals and families who experience harm or abuse. The Case Worker/Advocate provides person-centered, trauma-informed support to survivors; developing service plans to match individual needs utilizing a range of financial, medical, social, vocational, and other services and resources based on participant needs, eligibility, and priorities.The Case Worker/Advocate also participates, as appropriate, in program planning, outreach, and service development through community engagement and relationships with other service providers.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Providing trauma-informed, person-centered case management and advocacy based on individualized needs.
  • Providing intake, assessment, orientation, support, referral, and advocacy services by assessing and evaluating each participant’s self-identified needs.
  • Developing reasonable service plans and timelines with each participant and managing participant expectations during the service period.
  • Ensuring that participants are provided the tools they need to meet their self-identified goals and objectives.
  • Ensure timely compliance with both case file management and reporting requirements while using appropriate data tracking systems. This entails regular and timely maintenance of both hard-copy and electronic client case files per best practice standards including writing detailed case notes, data entry in the ETO system, collecting client documents and signatures
  • Perform various administrative tasks including financial reconciliations, requesting payments and printing out vouchers/transmittal sheets, completing individual mileage reimbursement requests and others as required
  • Assessing and monitoring participant progress to ensure goals are being attained, designated resources are being maximized, and modifying plans as required.
  • Ensuring compliance with case file management and reporting requirements.
  • Participate in all program meetings, staff development activities.
  • Work as part of a team to provide comprehensive strength-based services to IRC clients through coordination of cases and effective communication between team members and departments
  • Other activities as needed and assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree with emphasis in Social Work or equivalent field is strongly preferred, and the skills and knowledge typically acquired through 2-3 years of relevant work experience.A significant portion of this experience should include responsibilities in case management or other direct services, social services, humanitarian relief, public service, or other not-for-profit environment.
  • Experience working with survivors of domestic violence and other harm strongly preferred.
  • Strong intercultural communication skills: demonstrated ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and across language barriers.
  • Experience and training in trauma-informed approach.
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of professional boundaries.
  • Comfortable working in high-stress environments; must be adaptable, flexible, and patient.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proven ability to contribute both independently and as a team member.
  • Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills combined with the proven ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and manage time effectively.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written, additional fluency in relevant languages is desired.
  • Proficient with Windows operating system and confidence in basic computer skills (word processing, email, data entry); willingness to learn new software.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle with current insurance, and the ability to travel regularly throughout the service delivery area.

Working Environment:

Standard office environment at IRC’s office in SeaTac, WA; Hybrid schedule with 2 days/week in office, with occasional evening or weekend activities as needed.

Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget.Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
