The Need For 25 years, IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. 9 out of 9 times in the last decade, IJM’s Justice System Strengthening Projects have reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85% for very large populations of people in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence by 2030, we are seeking a Coordinator, Events, Global People Support to be responsible for the ongoing planning and execution of key culture-making events for North America and Global Functions staff at IJM. The successful candidate will be organized and detail-oriented while also maintaining agility as a proactive member of the Global People Support (GPS) team. This role will support larger GPS objectives in the Arlington office and embody GPS values in support of our people. Working on the Experience Team and closely with the Spiritual Formation and Talent Acquisition Teams, this role will plan and execute events for the GPS Team such as, four Quarterly Prayer Retreats per year, regular rhythms of Orientations for new staff, interns, fellows, as well as Intern and Fellow trainings and debriefs throughout the year. Events will largely be in person but also may require hybrid or virtual support. This role helps ensure consistent excellence in all events directed toward North America and Global Functions employees and may serve ad hoc on other IJM event planning teams as needed. This position is based in the Washington, DC area and is available to be hybrid (onsite Tuesdays & Thursdays). It reports to the Director, Global People Support Experience and is only available for candidates with the right to work in the US. Responsibilities: Networking & Partnership This position will form strong relationships with the Director, Global People Support Experience; Global Director, Talent Acquisition; Global Advisor for Spiritual Formation; CEO’s Office; and the N. America Leadership Team in order to ensure that event planning and culture formation needs are being met. This position will also partner with regional HR teams to ensure alignment on Global Orientation. Create event planning and debrief cycles that include all necessary constituents. Track compliance for global orientations in collaboration with regional HR. Travel This position would help to coordinate hotel contracts and travel plans for events that are led by the Experience Team. Communication This position works closely with IJM’s internal communications function to ensure that all participating staff receive all the information they need in a timely, clear, and compelling manner. Develop and maintain necessary communication timelines with Internal Communications. Documentation, Reporting & Data Management The successful candidate will gather data on every event via post-event surveys. Execute and continuously improve via Quarterly Prayer Retreat post-event survey data. Execute and continuously improve via Orientation Week post-event survey data. Conduct regular lessons-learned sessions and create opportunities for feedback loops. Become familiar with IJM’s HCM platform, Workday, to leverage data and reporting features. Budget Management This position will monitor budgets allotted to Experience events. Approve qualified expenses in Workday system. Provide monthly budget report to relevant budget owners. General Tasks Participate in IJM’s community of spiritual formation. Because this position resides on a dynamic team within a growing organization, there will be other tasks that arise in the midst of the day-to-day work. Qualifications: Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study preferred; 3 years of experience conceiving, planning, and executing in-person, virtual, and hybrid events for groups of 30 to 350; and Project management experience preferred. Technical Competencies Excellent oral and written communication skills; High proficiency with Microsoft Suite; Excellent detail management; and Spanish language fluency strongly preferred.
