Description:
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as an Inventory Cashier at the downtown Los Angeles Farmers Market. The Inventory Cashier will play a critical role in managing inventory levels, processing transactions accurately, and ensuring smooth operations at our market's checkout counters.

Responsibilities:

• Manage inventory levels for merchandise, including fruits, vegetables, artisanal products, and other items sold at the market.
• Monitor stock levels, track product expiration dates, and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely replenishment of inventory.
• Scan and process purchases accurately and efficiently using a cash register or point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Handle cash, credit card, and electronic payments, and provide customers with receipts for their purchases.
• Assist with pricing and labeling merchandise, as needed, to ensure accurate pricing for customers.
• Conduct regular inventory audits and stock counts to identify discrepancies and ensure inventory accuracy.
• Collaborate with vendors and market management team to address any inventory-related issues or concerns.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area, including bagging groceries, restocking supplies, and disposing of waste properly.
• Adhere to all cash handling and security procedures to minimize the risk of theft or loss.
• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience as a cashier or in a customer service role, preferably in a retail or market environment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management and cash handling.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact positively with customers, vendors, and colleagues.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic market environment, with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
• Basic math skills and proficiency in using cash registers or POS systems.
• Availability to work weekends or evenings as needed to support farmers market operations.
