JOB SUMMARY:
We are looking for an Accountant to manage all financial transactions, fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits,budgets, and assisting finances manager in preparing documents for external CPAs in audit and tax preparation
Accountant responsibilities include auditing financial documents and procedures, reconciling bank statements, and running financial reports. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience with bookkeeping and a flair for spotting numerical mistakes.
Ultimately, you will provide us with accurate quantitative information on the financial position, liquidity and cash flows of our non-profit, and while ensuring were compliant with all reporting regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accounting:
Manage all accounting transactions, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and reviewing financial statements for accuracy and completeness.
Manage and oversee accounts payables and account receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing and payment.
Investigating and reconciling discrepancies in accounts receivable and payable, as well as payroll
Processing semi-monthly payroll and reporting payroll to Bureau of Labor Statistics on monthly basis
Preparing payments of invoices
Ensure timely bank payments and deposits
Ensuring accuracy of donation database and financial database
Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary
Provide guidance and support to the junior members of the accounting team.
Reporting:
Assist in the preparation and review of financial reports for management, including P&L statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
Assist in the preparation of annual audits performed by an external auditor
Compliance:
Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and external regulations.
Ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Comply with financial policies and regulations.

Assisting with basic HR duties:

Assist Finance Manager with new hire documents and compliance
Keeping track of employee information and documentation
Other: May perform other tasks as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields
At least 2 years work experience as an Accountant
Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Experience with general ledger functions
Hands-on experience with accounting software like QuickBooks
Good computer skills with a knowledge of spreadsheet programs like Excel
Attention to detail and accuracy
Able to multitask, prioritize, work under pressure and meet deadlines
Ability to communicate complex data clearly
Ability to work in a small, collaborative team environment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Positive attitude, strength-based perspective
Must possess a valid California Drivers license, reliable transportation and current auto insurance
Be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.
Clearance of fingerprint, background check, and complete a TB screening.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in non-profit accounting a plus
Bilingual in Vietnamese and English is a plus
CNAP certification is a plus (Certified Nonprofit Accounting Professional)
