Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our medical team. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a crucial role in collecting blood samples from patients for diagnostic testing and transfusions. Your attention to detail and ability to provide a comfortable experience for patients will contribute to the overall success of our healthcare facility.

Responsibilities:

- Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture to collect blood specimens

- Verify patient information and ensure accurate labeling of samples

- Prepare samples for laboratory testing and maintain proper documentation

- Prepare lab requisitions for laboratories like Quest and Labcorp

- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols during all procedures

- Provide exceptional patient care and ensure their comfort throughout the process

- Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, restocking as needed

- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate specimen collection

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program

- Current certification as a Phlebotomist (e.g., CPT, PBT)

- Proven experience in performing venipuncture and capillary puncture techniques

- Knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory procedures

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
