We’re hiring a Housekeeping Supervisor to Live. Work. Explore. just one mile from the entrance to the iconic south rim of Grand Canyon National Park!

Job Summary:The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for ensuring housekeeping functions of lodging unit are up to established standards.

The Details:Position Type: Full-Time, Year-RoundPay: $18.55 per hourSchedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities

• Fully understand and support Xanterra Mission Statement and Core Values.
• Schedule, train, evaluate and give recommendations for promotions of Guest Room Attendants and Inspectors as needed.
• As directed by Housekeeping Manager assists in maintaining payroll budget within plan.
• Reporting and follow-up of maintenance within lodging unit.
• Management of unit materials and supply budget, direct labor budget and productivity.
• Ensures security of Company and guest property including all keys.
• Adhere to and ensure that assigned staff is adhering to all safety, risk management and environmental policies in performing their tasks.
• Communicates professionally and respectfully with Rooms office staff, front desk, porter staff, laundry, maintenance, and other housekeeping units and staff employees.
• Works in any Housekeeping unit on the property.
• Assist with scheduled inventories for linens, amenities, cleaning supplies.
• Assist in annual reviews for unit staff, and under direction of Housekeeping Manager to administer corrective action as necessary.
• Conducts daily service briefing and train staff as needed.
• Ensure staff members adhere to all grooming and uniform standards; meeting the appearance standards as outlined in the Xanterra Tusayan, LLC Employees Handbook and departmental guidelines.
• Perform opening duties for Rooms Department/Housekeeping as assigned.
• Perform duties as Rooms Department Manager on Duty as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of Housekeeping operations and procedures.
• Previous leadership experience supervising and training entry level employees a plus.
• Must possess a valid/clear Arizona Driver’s License, and be able to comply with the Xanterra Tusayan, LLC Company Vehicle Policy.

Physical Requirements include:

• Constantly listening, hearing, seeing, standing, walking, balancing, climbing, twisting, eye/hand coordination, manual dexterity, handling, wrist motion, bending/ stooping and carrying, lifting, pushing, and pulling items weighing up to 75lbs and constantly pushing loaded cart weighing up to 300lbs
• Trunk Strength-The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without giving our or fatiguing.
• Static Strength-The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull or carry objects.
• Will be required to stand and walk for long periods of time and to occasionally walk on uneven surfaces.
