• Entry rate: Registered MLS, $30.34-$46.84, Unregistered MLS, $27.60-$42.57, Registered MLT, $22.80-$35.19 (Based on Experience)
• Shift Details: Wednesday's & Friday's 630-1700, 2 Tuesday's/month 500-1530 & weekend/month
• Additional Details:Will consider Registered/Unregistered MLS and Registered MLT candidates.

Riverton Hospital was the first hospital in Utah to house a special pediatric unit operated by Primary Children's Hospital. Your child can receive the world-class care Primary Children's is known for, closer to home, which will reduce travel time for you while your child is in the hospital and help you spend more time at your child's bedside. Children will need to travel to Primary Children's Hospital to receive care for more complex cases, but many conditions can be cared for here. We provide state-of-the art-cancer care and treatments close to home. If you have cancer, you may need frequent, regular treatments. Patients can receive chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and infusion/IV services significantly reducing commuting and treatment time during a period when you may have decreased energy and stamina. Riverton Hospital has received a Level IV trauma center designation from the Utah Bureau of Emergency Medical Services. Earning a Level IV trauma center designation certifies Riverton Hospital can provide advanced trauma life support to evaluate and stabilize patients before transferring them to a higher-level trauma center, if needed. Level IV trauma centers must also meet strict criteria and be equipped to provide advanced trauma life support at all times.

Scope:

The Registered Med Tech/MLS performs testing in various departments of the clinical lab, such as Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Transfusion, and more. These scientists act as a technical expert to clinical staff, co-workers, and other departments. They are critical to patient diagnosis and care, ensuring accurate results through quality control, proficiency testing, calibrations, record review, instrument maintenance, and results/analyzer troubleshooting.

Intermountain caregivers in this role will have opportunities for growth, taking on additional responsibilities such as:

• Key operator
• QC review
• Training and mentoring new staff
• Assisting with evaluation and validation of new equipment
• Technical writing
• Compliance readiness (CAP, CLIA, etc.)
• Acting as interim Team Lead

This position requires organizational skills as well as the ability to navigate many technical processes with a high level of detail. These caregivers work well as a member of a team and maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

Registered MLS:

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory/medical technology science. Education must be obtained through an accredited institution. Degree will be verified. - OR - Completion of course work and internship requirements in a qualified MLS program and eligibility to sit for the BOC. Certification must be completed and documented within 6 months of hire to remain in the registered MLS role.
• Medical Technologist / Medical Lab Scientist certification or equivalent certification as approved by Manager and Human Resources. Certification must be maintained to remain in job.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts that may include weekends, holidays, nights and on-call.

Unregistered MLS:

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory/medical technology science. Education must be obtained through an accredited institution. Degree will be verified. - OR- official transcripts demonstrating completion of a recognized and accredited program.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts that may include weekends, holidays, nights, and on-call.

Registered MLT:

• Associates degree or at least 60 semester hours of an accredited MLT program along with national certification, MLT (ASCP or approved accrediting agency), or equivalent (military) certification as determined by Manager. Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts that may include weekends, holidays and nights.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with laboratory information systems.
• Experience in relevant areas of the clinical laboratory.
• Demonstrated ability to use laboratory systems, databases, and spreadsheets.
• Demonstrated effective communication skills using email, telephone, and in person.
