Worldwide Mission Critical is Hiring an Electrical Design Engineer Project Manager Near Dallas, TX

SUMMARY

Worldwide Mission Critical is actively growing our engineering staff across the country and seeking an Electrical Engineer or Project Manager for our Pre-Construction group. The selected candidate will oversee design and technical systems development for large, complex data center projects from concept development to construction administration. While an Electrical Engineering background is preferred, responsibilities encompass multi-disciplinary oversight, including MEPT and CSA efforts. You will be supported and mentored by other Pre-Construction and Construction Managers, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to grow with the company, and partner with team members across the country.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate multiple design projects within the construction and data center industry, facilitating communication between stakeholders.
  • Lead recurring project meetings, ensuring effective communication and documentation of discussions, decisions, and action items.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for key stakeholders, providing regular updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining project plans, schedules, and tracking project progress.
  • Identify and escalate project risks and issues, proactively addressing challenges during the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with clients, project managers, and team members to streamline workflows, optimize resource allocation, and drive project success.
  • Prepare Design Team RFP/Bid/Selection documents and guide the preparation of Basis of Design (BOD) documents.
  • Provide Design Management from Concept Development through Construction Documents, including overseeing the construction budget and schedule.
  • Prepare General Contractor RFP/Bid/Selection documents and Owner Furnished Contractor Installed (OFCI) Equipment Procurement documents.
  • Guide coordination with local Utilities and manage permit applications and timelines.
  • Manage Design and Owner Project Meetings, and provide Weekly Status Reports to the Owner.
  • Participate in job site observations and offer commentary on work in progress.
  • Develop high-level concepts for M&E system topologies and capacities for execution by the design team.
  • Engage with governmental agencies and monitor project team members to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Create building system concepts and drive documentation process from concepts through construction administration phases.
  • Participate in early project charrettes identifying opportunities and challenges.
  • Conduct required code research and material/product research as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve quality of services and deliverables, and participate in implementation.
  • Participate in in-house training and industry-focused professional organizations.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering with electrical building systems emphasis.
  • Revit BIM design experience required.
  • Proficiency in power distribution and lighting design, including controls implementation.
  • Experience with short circuit analysis and utilization of analytical modeling software such as SKM or similar tools.
  • Strong background in the design, construction, and commissioning of medium and low voltage electrical distribution systems, and power management or SCADA tools.
  • Preferred qualifications include a Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  • Experience in mission-critical facilities and their electrical/mechanical infrastructure.
  • Knowledge and experience in estimating, electrical design, operation, and commissioning of substations, switchgear, and power monitoring.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in A/E industry preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of professional services from conceptual design through project close-out.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and ability to motivate and mentor staff.
  • Familiarity with sustainable design approaches and related project impacts.
  • Passion for improving workflows and mentoring team members.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Productivity Suite products.
