Job Posting: Software Engineer - Data Science Support
Your Main Objective:

We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to provide software engineering and data science support, working closely with analysts to develop tradecraft, train, and document data sets and processes. Your primary objective will be to contribute to the development of tradecraft and provide essential support to our data science team.
What Sets You Apart:

-A High School diploma/GED plus 9 years of relevant experience may be considered for individuals with in-depth experience that is clearly related to the position.
-An Associate's degree plus 7 years of relevant experience.
-A Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of relevant experience.
-A Master's degree plus 3 years of relevant experience.
-A Doctoral degree with no experience.
-Degree must be in Computer Science (CS) or related fields (e.g., Engineering, Mathematics) with foundational CS coursework.
-Relevant experience in the software development process, including requirements analysis, software design, implementation, testing, integration, deployment/installation, and maintenance.
-Development experience in Python Jupyter Notebook using data science best practices.
-Experience developing PySpark analytics using big data best practices.
-Documentation proficiency in Jira and Confluence using Agile methodologies.
-Version control experience in GitLab using best practices.

Responsibilities:

-Software Engineering Support: Provide support to the data science team by developing software solutions and tools.
-Collaboration with Analysts: Work closely with analysts to understand requirements and develop tradecraft.
-Tradecraft Development: Contribute to the development of tradecraft and best practices in data science.
-Training and Documentation: Train users on data sets and tradecraft, and document processes in Jira and Confluence.
-Python Development: Develop in Python Jupyter Notebook using data science best practices.
-PySpark Analytics: Create PySpark analytics using big data best practices.
-Agile Methodologies: Utilize Agile methodologies for documentation and project management.
-Version Control: Commit code in GitLab using versioning control best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and frameworks.
-Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.).
-Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
-Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
