As a member of our team, here’s a big-picture view of what you’ll do:
- Care for the personal care and hygiene needs of patients in facilities such as nursing homes, assisted living facilities, rehabilitation centers and hospitals.
- Work with a team of physicians, RNs, LPNs, and aides to deliver excellent patient care.
- Help with daily needs such as bathing, toileting, dressing, grooming, eating and nutrition.
- Assist with ambulation, transfers, and range of motion exercises.
- Check vitals, measure intake/output, monitor blood glucose, and document any changes.
- Observe patient and notify supervisor of issues requiring a change in care, medication, or equipment.
A few must-haves for a Resident Assistant:
- High school diploma (or equivalent)
- Eighteen (18) years of age or older
- CPR certification, optional
- CBRF certifications on the CBRF registry (Standard Precautions, Fire Safety, First Aid/Chocking)
- One (1) year’s accumulated experience in medical facility (Skilled Nursing Facility, Assisted Living, Memory Care, etc.)
- Knowledge of state and federal healthcare laws and regulations
- Compassionate nature, good communicator, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
