Surgical Aide - Full-Time

Schedule: Full-Time, M-F 7am - 3:30pm OR M-F 9am - 5:30pm

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Room Turnover: Clean OR before/after surgery, assist OR staff with patient position as directed, transport patient to/from OR before and after surgery.
• Inventory Management: Identify supplies to restock from case cart, maintain accuracy of inventory, clean supply areas routinely.
• Maintain good communication skills, use courtesy and helpful attitude on telephone and other areas of the hospital.
• Adhere to hospital and department policies regarding patient care, patient safety, QI activities, infection control, emergencies, etc.
• Transport specimens to the lab and log them in correctly.
• Responsible for waste disposals.
• Stock case carts with sterile supplies for surgery, follow procedures for add-on cases and items not filled, maintain knowledge of inventory in the case cart area.
• Perform and complete other duties as assigned.

What we require of you:

• High school diploma or GED.
• 6 months of relevant work experience in direct patient care is preferred but not required.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Demonstrated understanding of principles of sterile processing and materials handling.
• Good attention to detail.
