Interim HealthCare of West Michiganis a locally owned and operated leader in post-acute care services in West Michigan. 

We are now seeking Hospice Companion Volunteers to serve within our growing Hospice Division. This is an unpaid volunteer role.

Your impact will be felt by both patient and their family members, as you offer the gift of your presence and friendship. 

Your Volunteer Role 

• Read to your patient, lend a smile, listen to another's life-journey, share the joy of music, a favorite show, or play a game; companionship is a powerful gift!
• If you desire a more behind-the-scenes roll, you can engage as an administrative volunteer at our Corporate Hospice to give a hand as office team support
• Inquire about other volunteer opportunities as well such as Activities or Bereavement Assistant, Animal Therapy, Licensed Massage Therapist, Salon Service or Music
• This is a flexible role, and whatever time you have to give is appreciated and will be accommodated

• We have a sense of humor, and we know how to use it

Volunteer Responsibilities 

• After being contacted, fill out the official application and background check form
• Participate in an interview process
• Participate in an volunteer orientation and training
• Spend time serving your assigned patient or fulfilling administrative duties
• Communicate consistently and regularly with your Volunteer Coordinator
• Documentation in EMR
• Be Dependable, and Committed 

Volunteer Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age
• Reliable transportation with valid state driver's license and current car insurance
• Kind, Compassionate, Reliable, and Emotionally mature
