Interim HealthCare of the Black Hills is Hiring a Home Health Aide (HHA) Caregiver Near Rapid, SD

Our Homecare Champions are critical members of our care team, assisting clients with a wide variety of daily activities, including meal prep, grocery shopping, providing home upkeep, attending and participating in social events, and much more. The Fine Details:

  • Perform and assist clients with activities of daily living, including, shopping, supporting a clean and safe home environment and preparation of meals, reinforcing adequate fluid and nutritional intake
  • Utilize infection control measures such as standard precautions, hand washing, and personal protective equipment
  • Recognize, document and report changes in client environment and safety to supervisor
  • Organize your schedule to carry out visits/shifts and organize tasks
  • Complete regular Interim HealthCare in-service trainings to remain up-to-date on mandatory training
  • Complete other assignments as required
  • May have access to personal health information (PHI) necessary to fulfill the above duties and responsibilities. Access to use and ability to disclose PHI is further defined by each organization/department

Minimum Requirements to be a successful candidate:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer
  • Successful complete appropriate knowledge (competency) assessment(s) 
  • Provide proof of valid auto liability insurance and valid driver’s license as required by the organization’s insurance carrier, if assignment(s) include driving a vehicle
  • Able to hear, speak, write and read in English
  • Able to read ten (10) point or larger type
  • Able to effectively handle multiple tasks or functions
  • Meet applicable state and federal health screening requirements
  • Pass federal and state required criminal and abuse background checks where require

Working Conditions & Physical Effort:

  • Able to constantly travel locally between assignments
  • Able to constantly stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, kneel and reach freely
  • Able to constantly grasp with thumb in opposition to fingers of palm, i.e. manipulate pen, knobs or objects
  • Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens and/or other potentially infectious or hazardous materials
  • Able to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds in order to carry out daily job functions and related activities that may be required
