Directs and coordinates activities of employees they oversee on the plant floor or warehouse
Reviews production schedule to ensure they have resources and materials to plan shift operations
Coordinates manufacturing activities to insure production and quality of products meet job specifications & goals
Inspects/observes/directs production processes and methods to insure proper handling of products and equipment
Assigns workers to specific duties based on knowledge of production methods, processes, machines and equipment
Ensures that good housekeeping and preventive maintenance tasks are completed as scheduled
Responsible for welfare and safety of all employees under their supervision
Responsible for the creation/implementation of both plant and department specific training programs
Contributes and trains employees to reduce waste and increase efficiencies on the plant floor
Achieves production, quality
Leads management of specific assigned areas for timely completion of preventive maintenance, housekeeping, performance reporting and compliance with plant policies. Coordinates with peers to insure all area assignments on completed.
Reviews quality and performance each shift. Works with crews to address exceptions and escalates appropriately when required.
Makes recommendations for improvements to Operations, Quality and CI Managers. Implements when possible.
Insures compliance by their reports with plant policies for HR, Safety, Food Safety and Quality. Escalates issues when appropriate.
Demonstrates their membership of plant leadership through their actions and behaviors.
Monitors performance of their reports. Addresses issues in a timely manner and escalates when appropriate. Completes periodic reviews of their reports in a thorough and timely manner.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities and Traits: Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree or equivalent is preferred. Requires a minimum of 1 - 3 years as a Supervisor, experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
Proven self-direction, influence and facilitator skills are required
