Position Summary:

This part-time position (Monday - Friday, 4-9 PM) will clean the building and grounds every day. This includes housekeeping and cleaning activities in offices, kitchens, common areas, restrooms, parking lot, utility room and outside areas.

Qualifications:

Experience dealing with the public, a high level of initiative, ability to handle a variety of tasks and responsibilities effectively, the ability to work with diverse groups of people with respect. The individual must demonstrate a solid work ethic and punctuality.

• Three years maintenance experience.
• Reliable transportation
• Must be able to meet the requirements of a Drug Free Workplace and pass a NYS background check.
• Ability and willingness to take direction and follow through as directed.
• Ability to work independently, handling multiple tasks while maintaining a positive attitude.
• This position requires flexibility. Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, and climbing activities. Lifting and carrying of bulky or heavy items is required.
• Knowledge of general maintenance along with the ability to assess health and safety requirements.
• Ability to use and maintain cleaning equipment including wet and dry mops, brooms, floor scrubbers, vacuum cleaners, leaf blowers, shovels, cleaning supplies, towels, steel wool, carts, and trash cans.
• Ability to log in to a computer and use email

Essential Functions:

Daily Cleaning

• Ensure restrooms, kitchen, and breakroom areas are cleaned and stocked with soaps and paper products.
• Remove trash and recycling daily and place it in correct exterior dumpsters.
• Collapse and recycle mailing boxes
• Dust public area furniture daily
• Maintain cleanliness of entryway; remove debris
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of exterior spaces including trash and debris pick-up on lawn and around parking lot.
• Sweep and shovel snow from doorways.

Weekly Cleaning

• Mix cleaning supplies and fill bottles
• Vacuum all offices twice a week

General Tasks

• Purchase and stock cleaning supplies
• Maintain interior window cleanliness
• Move furniture as directed and reset meeting rooms as needed
• Replace light bulbs in overhead and other fixtures when necessary
• Maintain clocks in common areas
• Clean up spills
• Report problems in a timely manner to Building and Grounds Manager
• Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.23 per hour

Expected hours: 25 per week
