Overview

Job Purpose

We are looking for a Software Intern to help the team advance our Test Automation Engineering projects for one of our core back-office application. You will work closely with our engineers and product team to enhance our suite of Java based framework and tests for a benchmark administration system used for generating value projections for different financial benchmarks. You will have the opportunity to be mentored from Senior members of our engineering team, while getting hands-on coding experience in a team/agile based environment.

Responsibilities

• You will work closely with our SDET and QA engineers and product team to enhance our automated test suite for React based web applications.
• You will have the opportunity to be mentored from Senior members of our engineering team, while getting hands-on coding experience in a team/agile based environment
• Gain an understanding of the concepts and application of clean coding guidelines (like S.O.L.I.D design principles and Gang of Four Design Patterns) and how they apply to Test Automation programming.
• Develop and consume Java Clients for consuming microservice based RESTful services using industry standard tools like RESTAssured and Spring Boot.
• Retrieving and persisting data in a relational database using the Hibernate framework.
• Performing version control using tools like GIT and Bitbucket
• Being involved in the build process and deployment of these automated tests using CI/CD tools like Jenkins and Application Management tools like OpenText ALM
• Write end-to-end UI and integration tests using Selenium WebDriver (Java)
• Have an opportunity to apply your creative thinking, strategies, and ideas to help advance our test automation engineering projects for the future.

Knowledge and Experience

• Must reside in Atlanta and be able to work 40 hours a week.
• Bachelor’s Degree and/or pursuing master’s degree in computer science or a related discipline.
• 2 years of experience writing in Java (internships and school projects included. Similar experience in C# is acceptable)
• Strong familiarity with Object Oriented Design Concepts.
• Strong familiarity with relational databases
• Working familiarity with the Spring Framework is a plus but not a must have.
• Proven track record of success working collaboratively with diverse teams.
• The aptitude to understand and debug complex, technical issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Enjoy independent problem-solving.
