Position Objective

Operate in a safe and efficient manner so as to be a productive, while maintaining high quality.

Duties & Responsibilities

Task and Duties

  • Safety complies with all written and verbal safety rules of the plant and department including the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Complete housekeeping assignment per schedule.
  • Run spiral cutter for short periods of time with supervision.
  • Assist in monitoring product quality and make timely line adjustment.
  • Assist maintenance personnel during schedule and unscheduled maintenance.
  • Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other lifting equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned by Area Coordinator.
  • Be able to thread up winder and rotate cradle.
  • Be able to load and operate platform carriage.
  • Know and identify rollers on winder.
  • Know the controls on the winder and rotate cradle.
  • Must have regular, reliable attendance, and willing to work outside the regular schedule as required.
  • Willing to handle job stress and interact with others in the workplace.

Machinery and Electrical Devices Used

  • Forklift.
  • Overhead cranes.
  • Pallet jacks.
  • Hand tools.
  • J-knife, utility knives.
  • Electric chain hoist.

Physical and Visual Activity Required

  • Climbing, ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and the like using feet and legs and / or hands and arms.
  • Stooping, bending body downward and forward by bending spine and waist.
  • Kneeling, bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
  • Crouching, bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
  • Reaching, extending hand (s) and arm (s) in any direction.
  • Standing, particularly for sustained periods in time. Example : making copies, giving presentations, directing traffic.
  • Walking, moving out on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances.

  • Mobile equipment operations, operate cars, trucks.
  • Position requires individual to differentiate colors, depth, and perception.

Work Environment Conditions

  • Inside environmental conditions protected from weather conditions not necessarily temperature conditions.
  • Outside environmental conditions, no effective protection from weather.
  • Inside and outside environments apply.
  • Subject to extreme cold, temperatures below 32 degrees for periods of more than one hour.
  • Subject to extreme heat, temperature above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour.
  • Subject to noise causing reason to shout in order to be heard above the noise level.
  • Subject to hazards, such as moving machinery, electrical currents, falling debris, exposure to chemicals, gases, high heat or combustible materials.
