Required Skills

• Willing to work a 2-2-3 schedule
• Work 12 hours shift
• Willing to lift 30 pounds routinely

IV. AUTHORITY/DECISION MAKING
The operator will do his/her own quality checks. They may need to make the decision to shut their machine down and ask for maintenance/more assistance rather than produce scrap.
V. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
A. JOB TASKS & DUTIES
• Performs routine operations required to operate and adjust machines
• Work from specific team leader / supervisor instructions, standard operating procedures and precise product specification sheets in the routine operation and adjustments
• Perform set ups and changeovers based upon prescribed procedures and production demand.
• Use ruler, retractable knifes, hook knifes and various hand tools.
• Operate pallet jack
• Perform Quality tests on finished product to insure quality of product and conformance to specified tolerances. Areas inspected include: length and width, and overall appearance.
• Make routine machine adjustments to correct minor deviations from tolerance.
• Diagnose routine problems, detect cause and perform required machine adjustments.
• Detect and report faulty equipment, unusual conditions and defective material to team leader / supervisor.
• Weigh scrap according to prescribed procedure.
• Move materials as necessary in the performance of duties or as directed.
• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Follow prescribed Safety rules and regulations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned, directed or in accordance with designated responsibilities.
• Train temporary personnel and others to perform routine operations required to
• Operate up to two conversion machines as required with a Packer.
• Cover teammates during breaks.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.
B. MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, ELECTRONIC DEVICES & SOFTWARE
• Pallet jack
• Ruler
• Hook knife
• Retractable knife
• Various hand tools including but not limited to needle nose pliers and allen wrenches
• Forklift, if certified
• Proper PPE
C. PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION

I. Walking, moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances.
J. Pushing, using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.
K. Pulling, using upper extremities to exert force in order to drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
L. Lifting, raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position.
DEGREE OF LIFTING:
5-25 lbs 26-50 lbs 51-100 lbs 101 lbs or greater
M. Fingering, picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm as in handling.
N. Grasping, applying pressure to an object with fingers and palm.
O. Feeling, perceiving attributes of objects such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.
P. Talking, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; via face to face or telephone.
Q. Hearing, perceiving the nature of sounds with no less than a 40 db loss @ 500 Hz, 1,000 Hz and 2,000 Hz with or without correction. Ability to receive verbal communication and to make fine discriminations in sound, such as when making fine adjustments on machined parts.
R. Repetitive motions, substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
Example: Filing, sorting mail, starting ignition of machinery.
D. VISUAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION

A. Machine operation, inspection, close assembly, clerical and administrative duties.
