Position Details
American Worldwide Agencies is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Customer Service Agent to join our team. The Customer Service Agent is responsible for managing routings within our overseas partners, vendors and suppliers. Prepare carriage to various CFS stations. The Customer Service Agent will review commercial documents to ensure the quality of cargo wise.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm
Location: Wood Dale, IL
Status Type: Full-time, nonexempt
Report to: Customer Service Manager
Position Responsibilities
Proactively communicates with customers/colleagues/vendors to obtain positive results
Arrange collection of shipments, provide bookings to customers, and obtain all required documentation while ensuring that all data is up to date in Cargowise
Maintain compliance standards, including internal policies and procedures, external government regulations, and customer requirements
Understand department process and flow, constantly looking for areas of improved efficiency
Track & trace shipments, monitor vendor performance; address and resolve service irregularities
Provide excellent customer service and ongoing commitment to quality communications and data integrity
Meet key performance indicators (KPIs) to support department, product, and company goals
Effectively communicate with clients to resolve disputes and address service failures
Perform other duties as assigned
Assist with cartage rate discrepancies as needed
Qualifications/Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent.
1-2 years of Customer Service experience
Microsoft Office, word, excel, outlook
High volume customer calls and emails, 300 /day desired
Freight forwarding experience preferred
Cargowise experience a plus
1 - 2 years logistics experience highly preferred
Air Export highly preferred
