In Q4 2023, Intel announced Altera will be reported as a separate business unit beginning on January 1, 2024, with ongoing support from Intel. This position is associated to that standalone business strategy and is expected to fully transition to a standalone company at some time in the future. The Global EHS Manager at Altera is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring the safety, health, and environmental compliance across Altera's Global sites. This position involves developing and implementing policies, procedures, and programs to create a secure and compliant work environment. You'll also be responsible for integrating ESG principles into our business practices. The position reports to Director of Corporate Services, and collaborates with cross-functional teams, regulatory bodies, and external partners to drive excellence in EHS practices.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Provides leadership and ownership to ensure Altera complies with all local and regional environmental health and safety (EHS) regulations.
Provide strategic direction and oversight for occupational health, safety, wellbeing, hygiene, environmental, and sustainability issues.
Align EHS programs with global standards and regulations. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Oversee EHS programs at multiple sites globally.
Work closely with cross-functional teams and site managers including operations, security, legal, and HR.
Communicate the EHS and ESG goals effectively to all levels of the organization.
Drive continuous improvement in EHS performance across all sites.
Coordinate and perform EHS assessments to identify workplace health and wellbeing hazards
Design and deliver employee EHS training programs.
Implement appropriate controls to measure and mitigate risks.
Conduct EHS accident and workplace safety audits, investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans.
Ensure submittal of environmental permitting, licenses, certifications, and external reports, environmental risk assessments, and safety hazard assessments.
Partner with stakeholders to develop and implement ESG initiatives, ensuring alignment with company goals.
Prepare EHS and sustainability reports based on recognized reporting standards.

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Occupational Health, Engineering, or related field.
8 years of experience as an EHS manager, in a multi-site, manufacturing and high-tech environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) are advantageous.
Knowledge of ESG principles, frameworks, and reporting standards.
