Description

• Help implement vehicle activities consistent with policies and procedures developed by the Fleet Manager in order to promote safe, cost-effective, and appropriate operation of fleet vehicles.
• Perform routine maintenance on medium and light duty vehicles
• Diagnose and troubleshoot reported complaints and issues
• Maintain records, PO history entry, documentation, particularly more complex or sensitive files such as vehicle / driver files
• Support daily operations such as field work and other duties as necessary
• Coordinate communication and work closely with the Fleet Supervisors
• Provide reporting as requested to the Fleet Manager
• Perform other related duties as assigned
• Must be able to perform the following services: tire rotation, lube/oil/filter, fluid check, suspension, full brake job

Requirements

Education and Experience:

Have at least two years of professional mechanic experience

Disseminate vehicle and safety information to fleet drivers

Maintain records, documentation, particularly more complex or sensitive files such as vehicle / driver files

Collect, review and maintain information such as monthly vehicle usage, off-clock usages, etc

Assure compliance with timely accident and vehicle damage reporting requirements

Support daily operations such as field work and other duties as necessary

Coordinate communication and provide reporting as requested to the Fleet Manager

Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Skills / Abilities:

Knowledge of both diesel and gas vehicles

Electrical experience (12v)

Have excellent verbal and written communication skills

Have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Have excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

Have the ability to prioritize tasks and request support when appropriate

Have the ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment

Have the ability to use a scanner, scan DTC’s and provide feedback of potential problems and repairs

Education and Experience:

Have at least two years of fleet mechanic experience

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Have valid driver license to operate company equipment/vehicles

Physical Requirements:

Frequent standing, walking and sitting

Frequent stooping

Frequent and repetitive motions of hands/wrists

Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Work Environment

This position generally requires 8 hours a day, if not sometimes more depending on the project. The workweek is Monday-Friday and occasionally on weekends/nights depending on the need for the company. This position requires work in an office setting but would require some time out on the job site in different types of weather. The location of this position will be listed on an offer letter
