Job Overview
Provide support to participants who need ongoing support to learn a new job and maintain a job that meets the definition of competitive integrated employment. Competitive integrated employment is full or part time work at minimum wage or higher, with wages and benefits similar to those without disabilities performing the same work and fully integrated with coworkers without disabilities. Support people with disabilities to direct their own lives, learn new skills and find meaningful employment. This position is part time & can lead to full time.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
A. Coach and support individuals with disabilities so that they have opportunities for growth, meaningful life choices and become valued and contributing members of their communities. B. Acts as an effective role model to support and assist individuals to have “everyday lives” by finding and maintaining employment. C. Train individuals in new work skills at apprenticeship sites in human services as arranged. D. Assists individuals with job seeking activities, including completing applications and interviewing skills. E. Provides follow up monitoring of individuals in competitive employment as scheduled for up to six months. F. Maintains documentation of service provided and individual progress in a timely, clear and correct manner. G. Report progress, problems and concerns to the Director or Quality Assurance Monitor.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and ability to learn other software as needed Effective written and verbal communication skills Successful completion of First Aid and CPR and other mandated trainings within specified timeframes Successful completion of ACRE or completion and maintenance of CESP certification. Valid driver’s license and daily access to a properly insured reliable vehicle Successful completion of the pre-employment process, including motor vehicle record and criminal background checks
Preferred Qualifications: • Community Support Professional I: 3-6 months combined education in psychology, social work, sociology, education or related human services field and/or work experience in the human services field. • Community Support Professional II: Previous work or internship experience in human services or related field. • Experience working with individuals with disabilities. • Must present self in a professional manner. • Must be able to work maturely with confidential information. • Must complete and successfully pass State background check, Child Abuse Clearance and FBI Clearance. • Ability to prioritize and organize work under minimal supervision. • Ability to work beyond normal schedule as needed. • Ability to work a flexible schedule if necessary.
