Integrated Supports for Living, Inc, (IS Living) is Hiring a Janitorial Crew Leader Near Salem, OR

Your Role in Our Mission

This position is a part of our Career Services department, which works to provide Support for individuals experiencing intellectual and developmental disabilities who wish to achieve employment. Our goal is to ensure that each person whom is willing can obtain integrated employment in the community, and our contract crews provide a stepping stone for people who are on this path. Your role would provide invaluable support for individuals navigating employment readiness. Learn about yourself while you guide others through their own learning!

Responsibilities:

  • Guiding a team to complete janitorial work assignments at various locations within Salem-Keizer
  • Using knowledge of Individual Support Plans to assist workers in development of employment and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to motivate others, redirect, and provide encouragement for task completion
  • Must value teamwork and building other people up
  • Develops and maintains a positive, effective, and respectful relationship with individuals served, their families, case management, organizational staff, administration, and all other stake holders
  • Assists with the development of and complies with individual support plans developed for each client
  • Maintains a clean and safe environment free from abuse, harassment, and judgement
  • Reports and/or documents routine and unusual events which include completing daily logs, event reports, individual support plan data sheets, and other necessary reports in a concise, understandable, and legible manner
  • Transports clients in a safe manner according to policy and procedure.
  • Maintains open communication and cooperative work effort with Department Director, Service Manager, and other staff to assure quality of work and continuity of support to individuals served
  • Provides training and/or supervision to work and/or participate in community activities or work opportunities, per client ISP or contracts
  • Transport crews to multiple locations within a given shift to meet contractual obligations

Schedule:

  • 12:00pm-8:00pm Monday to Friday

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be a mentor and leader. Facilitate constructive conversations about finding a dream job in the community and the steps necessary to achieve this goal
  • Be coachable
  • Practice and teach safety in all aspects of work
  • On call/respond to after-hours emergencies when required or as scheduled
  • Assist administration as requested/assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing
  • Successful clearance of local and or state background checks
  • Negative pre-employment drug screen
  • Experience with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred
  • Caregiving: 1 year (Preferred)
  • CPR Certification (Preferred)
  • Multiple work location
