Integrated Project Services is Hiring a Vdc coordinator Near Blue Bell, PA

Job Description

The VDC Coordinator II position will be assigned to the VDC / BIM / CAD team and will assist in obtaining, evaluating and coordinating all information needed to construct the project in accordance with the contract documents through BIM models and to assure that the work meets all safety standards, is within schedule requirements, and is constructed to the highest level of quality possible.

This will be done by leveraging BIM tools and processes to benefit project workflows.

KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reports to : VDC Manager, VDC Group Lead, Project Manager or Senior Superintendent
  • Has knowledge of and / or takes initiative to learn modeling software; including but not limited to : Navisworks, Revit, SketchUp, and AutoCAD.
  • Works on complex assignments independently, with attention to detail, and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues;

involves others in decisions when needed.

  • Review models from designers, subcontractors, and others to ensure proper coordination and installation.
  • Coordination of all BIM logistics (contracts, emails, communication, file sharing, etc)
  • Coordination and facilitation of subcontractor BIM meetings.
  • Create and maintain federated models for many purposes (PE review models, field inspection models, punch list background models, field instruction models).
  • General review and documentation of design documents and coordination conflicts.
  • Facilitating regular meetings with design team members and distributing responses to subcontractors.
  • Provide general BIM tech support for project engineers.
  • Assist in the validation of model-based project as-builts by trade subcontractors.
  • Responsible for individual quality control and timely completion of assigned projects.
  • Field CQC support, resolving field disputes through model verification.
  • Provide modeling for change order verification, ROMs, scope holes in modeling efforts, design team support, etc.

Qualifications & Requirements

REQUIRED EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS / WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors / Associates / Technical degree in Engineering, Architecture or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience) is required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in computer assisted drafting, design, and VDC / BIM required.
  • Strong working knowledge of Navisworks Manage is required. Working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Working knowledge of BIM 360, Glue, Field and other Autodesk products a plus.
  • Willingness to learn new software and develop standards.
  • Strong working knowledge of MEP systems and installations.
  • Experience with, and passionate about, design technology and skilled in its application and practices to increase user effectiveness.
  • Extensive capabilities with MSOffice, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint Must have extensive knowledge of the nuances, features, functions, and limitations of Autodesk and Bentley 3D / BIM Platforms, including experience with complex workflows involving these platforms.
  • Knowledge of Design-Bid-Build, Design / Build, integrated Project Delivery (IPD) and other modern contractual delivery methods.
  • Understands the Construction industry and maintains knowledge of future trends.
  • Understands project workflows from design, estimation, construction administration and coordination, and fabrication.
  • Ability to work with lite supervision.
  • Must have field experience in design and construction.
  • Must have great organizations skill (juggling multiple jobs and files from multiple vendors) to be able to meet project deadlines.
  • Customer service experience exhibiting strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work well with individuals (co-workers, clients, vendors) at all levels.
  • Able to deal with and resolve conflicts between contractors, clients, and the design team.

CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT AND SAFETY

  • Travel based on project location but willingness to travel 30-50% of the time to various job locations is necessary.
  • This position is a safety sensitive position. The employee is designated for field work and attends activities at client sites where they work in construction, process, packaging, manufacturing, research or other "non-administrative" areas.
