Key Responsibilities and Expectations:

Inspects, tests, troubleshoots, perform start-ups, collect data of low, medium, and high voltage (to 500kV) electrical systems, and perform relay calibration and power metering. Will work on low and medium voltage circuit breakers and protective relaying, transformers, motor soft starters and variable frequency drives.

• Perform installations, convert, and retrofits, interface wiring on conversion applications
• Perform preventative maintenance on industrial electrical equipment
• Test and prepare job sites to complete orders
• Calibrating, troubleshooting, repairing and rebuilding low and medium voltage breakers, load break switches, contactors and Motor control centers (MCC)
• Perform testing; Megger, Ductor, resistance test and primary and secondary injection tests.
• May be needed to process oil on transformers
• Report to job site and communicate with customers in a professional manner
• Report to the main office when all jobs are completed and obtain customer approval and signature.
• Maintain schedules and adheres to job orders

• Will be required to travel in and out of the state, up to 75% of the time
• Will drive a company vehicle to customer sites and maintain a safe driving record
• Maintain a clean vehicle at all times and ensure that it is properly stocked
• Must have the ability to operate in a constant state of alertness, and safe manner
• Respond to emergency calls
• Will be expected to certify at a minimum, NETA Level 2

Qualifications and Competencies:

• Three or more years’ of hands-on technical experience desired with a Technical degree preferred
• Must have working knowledge of low and medium voltage circuit breakers, transformers and/or protective relays. Circuit breaker experience is a must for this position
• Experience working on transformers, motor soft starters and variable frequency drives a plus
• Prior experience working on industrial switchgear or industry related equipment.
• Previous experience working in a substation environment a plus
• Will be expected to certify at a minimum, NETA Level 2
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record is required
• Must be available to travel to customer sites in and out of the state of FL. May be required to work weekends and holidays

• Must have a satisfactory driving record with the ability to obtain a DOT medical certification

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift, push, pull, carry items up to 75 lbs. in weight
• Must be able to pass a fit for duty physical exam
• Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, and bend for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to perform manual labor for up to 12 or more hours per day
• Acute hearing and strong field of vision
• Ability to work in demanding physical and inclement weather conditions
