Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Coordinator to join our esteemed Pulmonary, Psychiatry, and Sleep Medicine Clinic. As a Patient Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our patients have a seamless and positive experience from the moment they seek our services. Your primary responsibility will be registering new patients, gathering essential information, and facilitating their journey through our healthcare system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome patients, providing them with a warm and inviting atmosphere upon arrival.
  • Efficiently and accurately register new patients, collecting their personal and medical information using our electronic health record system.
  • Verify insurance information and ensure that all necessary authorizations are obtained for patient services.
  • Schedule appointments for patients based on the availability of healthcare providers and the urgency of the patient's condition.
  • Answer inquiries from patients, either in person or over the phone, addressing their concerns and providing relevant information regarding clinic procedures, services, and policies.
  • Collaborate closely with medical staff, nurses, and other administrative personnel to ensure a smooth patient flow and timely service delivery.
  • Maintain and update patient records in compliance with privacy regulations and clinic policies.
  • Handle patient billing and payment processing, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and handling correspondence as needed.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Additional education in healthcare administration or related fields is a plus.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a medical setting such as a clinic, hospital, or healthcare facility.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and patient management software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to provide exceptional patient care.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate patient records and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification processes, and billing procedures is desirable.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain patient privacy at all times.
