Job Title – Legal Assistant - Floater (Labor & Employment Law) Company Location – Los Angeles, CA 100% On-site | Full Time | Direct Hire Placement Salary – $90k , DOE Non-Exempt Job Summary of the Legal Assistant Floater position Integr8staff seeks an experienced Floater Legal Assistant for a highly-regarded and continually growing law firm in downtown Los Angeles, CA. The Floater Legal Assistant will carry out various administrative and litigation assignments and support attorneys across the labor and employment law group. Responsibilities of the Legal Assistant position This position will require support for more than one attorney at any given time.Demonstrate flexibility to cover various desks/practices throughout the firm; Create and organizepleadings and filings with various courts.Schedule depositions with attorneys, clients, witnesses, and court reportersFormat, input, edit, retrieve, copy, scan, and transmit legal documents Prepare pleadings and discovery documents for filing and service e-Filing – State and FederalManage and plan calendar of all appointments, conferences and meetingsDaily review and prioritization of client correspondence and communicationsCreate pleading/discovery binders, indexing and filing documents, organize and file case documents. Client Intakes, editing contracts and handling mailingsSchedule conference calls and on-site/off-site meetingsPrepare draft engagement and confirming letters as neededPrepare and submit new matters; change intakes for existing matters concerning adverse parties and billing contact and other information and collaborate as neededPrepare and submit preliminary conflict checks on behalf of the PartnerArrange and coordinate travel arrangementsPartner timesheets, expense summaries, and client bills Assists with overflow work and other projects as assigned Performs overflow typing, filing, or photocopying as time permits and as requested by other attorneys Maintain client confidence by keeping client/attorney information confidentialRequirements of the Legal Assistant position Minimum of 5 yrs. of administrative and litigation legal assistant experienceExperience with federal, state, and appellate court filing rules and procedures backgrounde-filing & calendaring experience is requiredKnowledge of preparing tables of contents and authorities.Excellent proofreading and writing skills, and great attention to detailExceptional administrative, follow-up, initiative, organizational skillsExcellent typing, formatting, and computer software skills neededKnowledge of MS Word, Outlook, and iManage or similar document management systemKnowledge of CompuLaw, Best Authority, Kofax, & CCC Macros is a plusBachelor’s Degree preferredUpdated resume is required for consideration.
