Intcomex is Hiring a Maintenance Technician Supervisor Near Medley, FL

Intcomex is a leading technology products manufacturer focused on the Latin American and Caribbean markets. Intcomex is seeking a maintenance supervisor with 5 years' experience in a maintenance management role and 3 years’ experience working with system conveyers.

Core Responsibilities

  • Preventive Maintenance & Inspections: Perform preventive maintenance, routine inspections, and ad-hoc repairs on conveyors, automation, robotics, and ancillary equipment as needed.
  • Troubleshooting: Conduct routine troubleshooting of out-of-service equipment, correct issues, and escalate to leadership or more senior technicians as necessary. Maintain maintenance logs for each line.
  • Documentation: Document all work in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and ticketing systems. Keep accurate records of all operating logs for fire pumps, generators, HVAC equipment, and other facility systems tested routinely.
  • Mentorship: Mentor maintenance personnel to develop appropriate skillsets and equipment knowledge.
  • Support Mechanics: Assist maintenance mechanics in tasks that require two people or when operational needs demand.
  • Facility Project Work: Perform facility/building project work, including light bulb/ballast replacement, door repairs, furniture installation, ceiling tile replacement, carpentry duties, plumbing repairs, and maintaining operation logs.
  • Equipment Assembly & Testing: Assemble and test equipment to verify correct operation and production. Analyze and record production delays, initiate procedures to solve equipment malfunctions, and verify corrective actions.
  • Industrial Lift Certification: Certify on all industrial lift equipment, including pickers, reaches, skates, booms, and scissor lifts.
  • Project Oversight: Oversee minor space renovations, inventory management, contractor oversight, and building efficiency improvements.
  • Maintenance Oversight: Oversee, inspect, and monitor routine maintenance provided by junior engineers.

Additional Requirements

  • Machinery Knowledge: Fundamental understanding of machinery and equipment.
  • Software Proficiency: Basic skill level in Microsoft Excel and other computer software packages.
  • PLC Systems: Experience working with inputs, outputs, and PLC logic systems and the ability to troubleshoot these systems.
  • Physical Capability: Ability to perform physical activities necessary for the role, including bending, twisting, reaching, lifting, and standing for extended periods. Must be able to move, lift, and carry supplies/equipment up to 50 lbs. frequently and occasionally up to 75 lbs.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow safety procedures such as Lock Out/Tag Out and Arc Flash and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while maintaining equipment. Ensure a safe work environment by eliminating potential equipment safety hazards.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work overtime and be available for on-call as needed.

Summary of Duties

  • Allocate workload and supervise upkeep staff (custodians, janitors, etc.).
  • Manage relationships with contractors and service providers.
  • Monitor equipment inventory and place orders as necessary.
  • Monitor electrical and hydraulic systems of facilities to ensure functionality.
  • Ensure conveyors and Vertical Reciprocating Conveyors are functional.
  • Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities.
  • Maintain maintenance logs and report daily activities.
  • Ensure buildings, plants, and facilities are fit for purpose and provide proactive support/solutions when required.
  • Comply with health and safety policies.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience: 5 years in a maintenance supervisor/managerial role and 3 years working with system conveyors.
  • Education: Associate or College degree preferred.
  • Language Skills: Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of engineering concepts, including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to keep track of and report on activities.
  • Planning: Experience in planning maintenance operations.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership and management abilities.
  • Problem Solving: Competent in problem-solving, team building, planning, and decision-making.
