RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Reporting and Analysis

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Conduct financial analysis and provide meaningful insights to help management understand the company's financial performance and make informed decisions.
  • Prepare variance analyses to identify trends and potential areas of concern or improvement.
  • Assist in analyzing actual performance against budgeted targets and forecasts.
  • Provide insights to support the development of financial projections and business plans.

Accounting Operations

  • Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger activities.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
  • Ensure reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Proactively work on continuous process improvements within the business.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline financial processes and reporting.

Audit and Compliance

  • Assist in the coordination of the annual audit, periodic bank audits and respond to auditors' inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and other financial reporting requirements.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment and support the overall goals of the finance department.
  • Participate in the recruitment and training of new staff members.
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting process by collaborating with various departments and gathering relevant financial data.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A master's degree and/or CPA designation is preferred.
  • Proven experience in accounting and financial reporting, preferably in a supervisory or assistant controller role.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting standards (GAAP, IFRS, etc.) with manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and ERP systems; familiarity with financial reporting tools is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and handle multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

The Assistant Controller position is integral to the success of the finance and accounting function. The role requires a detail-oriented and organized professional with a comprehensive understanding of internal controls, financial reporting and accounting principles. By efficiently managing financial data and contributing to strategic decision-making, the Assistant Controller helps drive the financial stability and growth of the organization.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
