Shift Details: Patient Services Coordinator to assist with front desk and administrative support for a busy, adult behavioral health clinic.

Job Summary

This position ensures patients have been cleared for specialty services office visits. Point person for all hospitals, department and other health care facilities pertaining to questions/concerns on all provider orders/ referrals. Provides support to clinical staff in order to facilitate the administrative components of clinical referrals for various services. Acts as a liaison between hospital, physicians, health plans, vendors and patients, or other referral services. Manages all outgoing referrals to appropriate agencies to assist the client in achieving the goals and objectives identified in their Care Plan.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provides support to clinical staff in order to facilitate the administrative components of delegating appropriate referrals to the appropriate team.
  • Reaches out to patients to establish care.
  • Verifies and updates insurance coverage.
  • Enters referrals and documents communications, actions and other pertinent data.
  • Communicates with the other team members and referral teams.
  • Exhibits caring and helpful interactions with patients.
  • Has the ability to multitask and exhibits attention to detail.
  • Provides exceptional and professional service to ensure efficiency that promotes a positive experience.
  • Pleasantly greets and registers arriving patients. Answers incoming calls promptly and professionally, evaluates priority, and directs calls appropriately according to urgency.
  • Schedules patient appointments in EPIC for the department.
  • Sends patient communication.
  • Exhibits sensitivity towards the mental health population.
  • Has the ability to work well under pressure.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Well versed in computer skills, such as EPIC, Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word
  • Minimum of one year experience in a customer service office setting
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
