Inspire Group is Hiring a Shift Parent (Day Shift) Near Tallahassee, FL

Position Objective: To provide supervision in a loving and nurturing family home environment for young men. Prepare youth daily with the ability to function once they leave the family home. The preparation may include preparation for independent living, foster care, adoption or other permanent placement

Essential functions may include: Provide in home services and interventions to young men ages 12-17 under the direction and supervision of Program Director/Quality Assurance Manager

  • Supervise and positively interact with children/youth during assigned shift
  • Engage in and supervise age appropriate social, life skills and play activities with children/youth
  • Direct children/ youth in eating, resting and hygiene
  • Conduct oneself as a "role model" for children/youth; provide appropriate direction of children/youth in their daily routine; give children/youth positive reinforcement as appropriate
  • Dispense medication to children/youth as instructed
  • Provide first aid treatment as necessary
  • Maintain complete and accurate daily records and report suspected child abuse/neglect as mandated by law
  • Implement behavior modification techniques as instructed
  • Prepare meals utilizing certified nutrition menus. Set the table for meals and eat meals with the youth at identified specific times such as dinner and breakfast.
  • Conduct and document required fire drills
  • Attend staff meetings and/or training as required
  • Maintain the order, safety, cleanliness of the facility and grounds; responsible for housekeeping and laundry; supervise children/youth in assisting with chores, transport children/youth to school and medical appointments as necessary
  • Maintain company vehicle in clean condition and good repair
  • Participate in, the quality improvement process
  • Provide daily living and social skills to youth as part of the treatment plan
  • Maintain familiarization with behavioral documentation requirements and patient rights
  • Respond to special clinical circumstances of youth including behavioral and medical emergencies. Participates in ongoing training and consultation with the treatment team where appropriate.
  • Document all services and maintain other related records

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent PREFERRED:
  • Minimum of one year of experience or training in the care of children/adolescents
  • Previous experience working with abuse, neglect, and special needs children 40 hours
  • Department of Children and Families certification CPR (infant and child), First Aid, CNA, or CDA certificate Crisis prevention/intervention training (Provided)

  • Handle emergencies and life threatening situations effectively
  • Intervene decisively when necessary to protect children
  • Be able to drive children to different places

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
