Job Summary :

Under direct supervision, inspect, verify, keep records of, and prepare items for outgoing shipment. Verify and keep records on incoming shipments.

Cycle count and maintain inventory records.

• Compare items to identifying information and counts, weights, or measures of outgoing shipments.
• Verify information against appropriate documentation, including but not limited to, purchase orders, invoices, customer orders, drawings, travelers and SOE’s.
• Visually examine and compare items to be shipped with appropriate documentation and quality control process requirement.
• Alert appropriate individual or department of discrepancies or damage.
• Assembles shipping containers or selects pre-assembled containers, and inserts items to be shipped into containers, using spacers, fillers and protective padding.
• Closes and seals packages to be shipped.
• Prepares required documentation for shipping.
• Affixes shipping labels, identifying information, and shipping instructions onto packed cartons or containers. Posts weights and shipping charges and affixes postage.
• Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Unpack and examine contents and compare with records such as manifests, invoices and orders to verity accuracy in incoming shipments.
• Compare identifying information and counts, weights, or measured items of incoming shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
• Enter receipts into computerized system, spreadsheets and / or other systems.
• Notify supervisors and other personnel of discrepancies per established policy.
