Purpose of Position
The Fighting Hawk embodies the spirit of North Dakota fans and is always a representative of UND. Performing as the
Fighting Hawk means being a part of the history of North Dakota. The Fighting Hawk requires dedication
and commitment. Students selected to represent North Dakota as the Fighting Hawk will experience a once-in-a-lifetime
opportunity to add to their college career.
As a member of the Spirit Squad program, the Fighting Hawk is required to follow the same standards / protocols as it relates to time committment, training, academics, etc as all North Dakota Spirit Squad members.
The Fighting Hawk receives a stipend at the end of semester. The stipend is based on the number of events worked.
This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.
Duties & Responsibilities
Required Competencies
multiple appearance requests each month. Mascot performers must have flexible availability evenings and
weekends to accommodate this rigid schedule ( Schedules are split depending on number of mascots).
to cleaning, repairing, and storage. Assistance is available for major repairs / cleaning.

In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications
Constant motion! The crowd is always seeking entertainment and leadership from the mascot. Stay in
character while in costume. Be sure to maintain a consistent walk and pay close attention to young children.
