Interventional Cardiovascular (Pre-Op) Admission & Recovery (ICAR) is seeking a full time Registered Nurse.We are located on the ground floor of the Inova Schar Heart & Vascular Center – Fairfax Medical Campus. This is a fast paced, team-oriented unit with an emphasis on multidisciplinary collaboration. Many opportunities for growth and involvement in the unit and hospital initiatives. 

High acuity, acute setting with flexible scheduling – must be available to work all of the following shifts to include Days, Evenings, Nights:6am-6pm, 7am-7pm, 10am-10pm, 11am-11pm, 7pm-7am (minimal nights and weekend requirements).

• Provide pre-procedure and post-procedure care of outpatient and inpatient populations,
• Electrophysiology procedures- pacemaker/ICD placement, Micra pacemaker, ablations-VT, SVT, A-Fib, A-Flutter, Watchman,
• Cardiac catheterization procedures- left and right heart caths, heart biopsies, ASD/PFO closures, carotid stents,
• Interventional Radiology procedures- angiograms, chemoembolization, IVS filter, Mediports, thrombolysis, venograms, G/J tube placements, nephrostomy and biliary tubes

Requirements: 

•Minimum of 1 year experience in an acute care setting is required (prefer stepdown or cardiac experience).

Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing.

If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 24 months of start date.
•BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification required and ACLS strongly preferred (must obtain within first 3 months)•RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a RN•Proficient in English, strong verbal and written communication skills•Exceptional interpersonal skill and the ability to display a caring demeanor towards others•Proficient computer skills required
