Inova Franconia-Springfield Surgery Center is a full service ambulatory outpatient facility. We provide cost-effective outpatient services using modern, state-of-the-art technology in a friendly and caring environment by highly-skilled, compassionate staff serving the Washington DC Metro area.

HOURS:

• Day shift only, Monday-Friday. No nights, holidays, or weekends.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

• Circulates and assists in GI procedures, i.e. egd, colonoscopy, etc.
• Provides communication between team members within the endoscopy suite and outside the endoscopy suite.
• Informs the OR Nurse Manager of case progress and reports and unusual circumstances.
• Arranges room for specific GI procedure. 
• Verifies proper function of necessary equipment.
• Assures that adequate supplies are available per procedure.
• Verifies operative consent for correct patient, procedure & physician. Ensures all documentation is signed, dated and timed. Verifies chart has complete and updated history & physical.
• Assists in patient transport to and from the GI room.
• May assist anesthesia provider during induction & during other crucial periods.
• Assists with decontamination of equipment and instruments using detergents and disinfectant solutions.
