Inova Health System is Hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) Labor and Delivery Near Falls, VA

The Labor and Delivery Unit at Inova Fairfax Hospital is seeking an experienced L&D RN to join our team!

Schedule: part-time, day shift with 2 x 12 hour shifts per week from 7:00am to 7:00pm

Sign-On Bonus Information: This position is eligible for a competitive Sign-On Bonus.

The Labor and Delivery Unit is located within the Inova Women's Hospital at on the Inova Fairfax Medical Campus in Falls Church, Virginia.

For expectant parents, all of our facilities at Inova Women's Center on the Inova Fairfax Medical Campus offer spacious and beautifully decorated, private labor-delivery recovery rooms designed with your comfort in mind, yet fully equipped with state-of-the-art technology in case of unexpected complications. Our unit has 33 L&D beds and 6 C-Section ORs. Our nurse to patient ratio is 1:2. Inova Fairfax Hospital performs over 10,000 births each year and is a leader in care for high risk pregnancies. Our nursing staff is made up of highly skilled clinicians with experience in obstetric care. In-house anesthesiologists and neonatologists/pediatricians are available 24 hours a day.

  • Provides knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination through an understanding of patient, family, nurse, and healthcare delivery team. Determines process for delivery of care from direct patient and family communication, technology, and other healthcare team member collaboration.
  • Ensures improvements in practice settings by assuming responsibility for self-development in life-long learning. Provides direction and guidance to others regarding practice. Serves as a resource, preceptor, and mentor. Demonstrates leadership skills in decision making and problem solving.

Requirements:

Required Experience: A minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse clinical experience in the acute care setting. 2 years of L&D experience is strongly preferred.

General Requirements:

  • Proficient in English, strong verbal, and written communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to display a caring demeanor towards others

  • Proficient computer skills required

Minimum Education Requirement: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate's Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 24 months of start date.

Minimum Licensure/ Certification Requirement:

  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia or hold a privilege to practice in the State of Virginia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start
