Inova Health System is Hiring an Infrastructure Architect Near Fairfax, VA
The Infrastructure Architect proactively identifies and resolves any architectural or standard issue effectively and efficiently to ensure minimal disruptions and unplanned downtimes of assigned systems. Independently seeks new technologies that will improve the availability, support and costs of infrastructure systems. Manages computing infrastructure such as servers, data storage and supporting infrastructure. Manages urgent and complex issues by setting customer expectations, devising and implementing action plans, being available as required and professionally communicating to all parties involved.
Job Responsibilities:
- Takes ownership of architectural designs and standards by ensuring the performance and availability of infrastructure systems.
- Drives and implements automation enhancements and process improvement efforts that are assigned to multiple complex systems/applications.
- Follows change control procedures, tests changes in non-production environments, develops back-out plans and monitors infrastructure systems for possible performance, security, application and system issues.
- Proactively assesses and monitors the current state of the service, user requirements, operations requirements, security gaps and industry trends to propose and deliver a roadmap to ensure infrastructure availability, support and adherence to security/compliance requirements.
- Efficiently/effectively communicates and follows up in a positive and meaningful manner with stakeholders on problem/project status, proper procedures for system evaluations, current task/project priorities and alternatives to requests for services that do not meet standards.
- Proactively identifies and implements successful preventive measures, as evidenced by minimal issues associated with assigned systems and implementations.
- Facilitates and reviews the definition and implementation of standards, methodologies and best practices that guide the design of technology solutions such as architecting and implementing solutions requiring integration of multiple platforms, operating systems and applications across the enterprise.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelors Degree in relevant field (or 4 years of experience in lieu of degree)
- Experience: 10 years of experience in a designing and architecting enterprise server environment with both administration and problem resolution of Microsoft Windows Server 2003 /2008/2012, 7 years working with VMware or equivalent Virtual products
- Certification: Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert or equivalent certification within six months of hire
