Job Description


Title:
Conversion (Delta) Press Operator I - (Night Shift)
Reports To: Value Stream Manager or Shift Supervisor
Schedule: Night Shift/ Mon - Thurs, 3PM - 1:30PM (10hrs, 4 day)

Summary: This Press Operator has proven ability's and skills to set up and operate the most complex rotary converting equipment in this Value Stream. The Press Operator position requires the Press Operator to set up, run, troubleshoot, interpret and follow work instructions. They will have a complete understanding of the operation and safety requirements for all rotary converting presses within the Value Stream. This Press Operator position is expected to have full knowledge of product quality, processes and procedures. This Press Operator position is expected to work with engineering and customers on and off press to develop new products and make quality and efficiency improvements to existing products. Press Operator must be able to meet production schedules and strive to achieve or improve cost estimates.

Responsibilities/Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Set up, run and troubleshoot product based on established job rates. Track rates and escalate to management and engineering per prescribed procedures if product is not meeting cost and efficiency requirements.
  • Perform quality inspections per Quality Department procedures and Engineering work instructions and document results.
  • Responsible for accurate entries in the computer time clock system.
  • Responsible for accurate documentation of inspection, equipment maintenance and work instruction changes.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment per Engineering procedures and ensure charts or logs are up to date.
  • Positively contribute to company's safety, quality and production goals.
  • Responsible for reporting to Management any unsafe working conditions.
  • Able to understand and accurately interpret prints.
  • Understand and adhere to company policies and procedures.

  • Accountable for accuracy of all electronic and hard copy documentation per Quality Department procedures and no finding in document audits.

Training/Education/Experience:

  • High School education or equivalent.
  • Some post High School education preferred in related field.
  • Previous manufacturing experience required; medical manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Able to interpret and understand prints.
  • 3-7 years Rotary Press experience
  • Problem solving / troubleshoot with ability moderate press issues
  • Basic understanding of Lean manufacturing concepts a plus.
  • Proficient PC skills, Microsoft office tools
